to Loathe Drawing Manga Style is inspired from most of those
'how to draw manga style' books you'll find at your major bookchains.
But what most anime fans will tell you, those books have very little
to offer as far as styles go. Want to learn to draw manga style? Here's
the secret. Learn the basics. Learn perspective. Learn human anatomy.
Learn color theory. Just learn, observe, and study from life and eventually
you'll begin to understand the style. It's really that simple.
What
these books don't teach you is how to break into the industry, and
that is where I come in. This webcomic is a semi-autobiographical
glimps into how I got to where I am today. Believe me, it hasn't been
pretty. Understand that should you decide to take on a career as an
artist, be prepared for a life of misery, failures, diappointments,
sacrifices and, most probably, depression. But HTLDMS is
no way meant to be a bleak insight into the comic or animation industry,
but rather a stepping stone to maybe something better for the future.
